You're supposed to have someone else make your site and write about you, right? Well, I'm a working stiff who writes in his spare time, clinging to the hope that something becomes of it, so I'm making this site from a template and writing it myself. That's to say this site does not reflect my writing ability, but only acts as a hurried placeholder until I "make it" or just stop trying.

 

I digress. I'm supposed to talk about me, right? Alright. I work a nine-to-five and I live paycheck to paycheck like the other 98% of the population. The only difference is I've had thousands of non-existent characters living in my head from the time I was old enough to play make-believe. I've always been a storyteller, either through Legos, action figures, writing, a brief dabble in independent film, or Dungeons and Dragons, and I've finally committed a few of those stories to full bodies of work.

 

Storytelling is my passion, and fantasy is my genre of choice. I'd finished my first complete novel in December 2019 and have been submitting queries throughout 2020. Unfortunately, the novel had not piqued the interest of agents enough to gain representation. But I've got plenty more stories to tell. One agent was kind enough to send an original response with "not bad, try me again with a different project," therefore giving me the single piece of actual feedback I needed to persevere.

 

Taking what I learned from writing the first, and armed with new software, I'd finished the second draft on another, unrelated novel in 202 and pursued representation from over 70 literary agents, to no avail. Now, I'm re-writing the project from scratch and preparing to self-publish it out-of-pocket and release it for free to kick off the planned series.
